Surveys for St Conval’s Primary and Eastwood Nursery online

Survey reports for 117 schools on the 4Rs schools’ estate programme have now been published on the council website, including St Conval’s Primary School and Eastwood Nursery School.

The first 59 schools and nurseries to benefit from the five year, £250 million refurbishment initiative were announced in March and the first tranche of work was started during the spring holidays in April.

So far, 23 buildings have benefited from investment and the programme for the next phase refurbishment is currently being developed.

Work is progressing well and the schools which are due to benefit from investment during the summer are being identified, work packages agreed and will be announced in due course.

Headteachers of schools where work will be carried out over the summer holidays will be contacted direct by a member of the 4Rs project team to let them know key dates and what they need to do before the end of term.

State of the art fire alarms have also been commissioned in 35 schools, and work in two schools already complete.

The majority of work agreed to date concentrates on new roofs and external works.   Three major re-roofs are currently on-site and several more approved and ready to start in the near future.
