Success for Mansewood and Hillpark residents

Emma Gillan, Labour’s Council Candidate in Mansewood and Hillpark has welcomed Glasgow Community & Safety Services’ action fortnight on dog fouling and littering hotspots in the area. This great news comes after the recent success of a similar action fortnight in Merrylee.

Emma Gillan said “I have been contacted by several concerned residents, particularly living around the routes to and from Hillpark Secondary who want action taken on the recent increase in litter volume on the streets. It is unacceptable for anyone not to use the bins provided and to fail to clean up after their dogs and I am confident that this action fortnight will lead to a lasting change for our area.”

Glasgow Labour has pledged to employ a dedicated enforcement officer in every ward in the city to extend this scheme and ensure that we crack down on irresponsible behaviour.

The following streets are to benefit directly from increased patrols and enforcement action:

Burnfield Cottages
Burnfield Road
Burnfield Drive
Barmill Road
Bemersyde Avenue
Mansewood Road
Nevis Road
Cairngorm Road
Rostan Road
Cheviot Road

Pentland Road
Hillpark Drive
Hillside Road
Lawers Road
Attow Road
